Privacy policy

The files and text you use with Toolbench are processed entirely on your own device and are never sent to us.

Last updated: 19 August 2026

The short version

Every tool on this site runs as JavaScript inside your browser. When you compress an image, format some JSON or generate a password, that work happens on your computer or phone. The content never reaches our servers, because there is no upload step to reach them with.

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not collect names, email addresses or any other identifying information from visitors.

What we store on your device

We use your browser’s local storage for one thing: remembering whether you chose light or dark mode. It holds a single value, it never leaves your browser, and clearing your site data removes it. It is not used to identify or track you.

Analytics

We may use a privacy-focused analytics service to count page views and see which tools are used, so we know what to build next. Where we do, the data is aggregated and does not identify individual visitors.

Advertising

This site currently shows no advertising. No ad script is loaded, no advertising cookie is set, and no third party receives anything about your visit for advertising purposes.

We expect to introduce advertising as the site grows. This section will describe what is served, by whom, and how to opt out before the first ad appears — it is written from the same setting that turns advertising on, so it cannot fall out of step with what the site actually does.

Server logs

The pages themselves are served by our hosting provider, which keeps standard technical logs — the page requested, the time, an IP address, and the browser reported. These are used for security and to keep the site running, and are retained for a limited period. They contain no information about what you did inside a tool.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data from visitors, there is generally no personal information for us to correct or delete. If you contact us by email we will hold that message so we can reply to you, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Brazil, the GDPR and the LGPD give you rights over any personal data an organisation holds about you. To exercise them, or to ask anything about this policy, email us at hello@toolbench.tools.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes — anything that alters what is collected or who receives it — will be described here rather than made quietly.
